If you're using older study material, confirm it reflects these additions specifically.

A realistic study plan

  • Weeks 1-4: Networking Fundamentals and Implementation domains — this is the conceptual foundation everything else builds on
  • Weeks 5-8: Operations and Security domains, while continuing to reinforce fundamentals through practice questions
  • Weeks 9-10: Troubleshooting domain specifically, working through scenario-based practice questions rather than pure recall
  • Weeks 11-12: Full practice exams under timed conditions, reviewing every missed question against the official objectives

Hands-on practice matters enormously for this exam specifically — setting up a home lab with even basic networking hardware (or a virtualized environment using tools like GNS3 or Packet Tracer) will do more for retention than reading alone. Networking concepts click much faster once you've actually configured a VLAN or watched a routing table update in real time.
